This is the School of Medicine Research Data Storage and Application Hosting technical information website.

(aka the School of Medicine's Health Sciences IT Research Data Security Project)

In March 2011, the CRBS began offering IT support services, via recharge, that include:
  • technical support in our areas of expertise
    • migration to a virtualized compute environment
    • high speed network design, implementation and troubleshooting
    • large data storage using ZFS (TB-PB)
    • 3rd party application integration
    • High Performance Computing (HPC)
    • Scalable, repeatable, secure server provisioning via CentOS, cobbler and puppet
    • iRODS Distributed Data Management System
  • virtual machines for hosting applications
    • Standard configurations (2GB/1CPU/50GB) or (4GB/2CPU/100GB)
    • Other configurations available (cost adjusted accordingly)
    • additional, NFS mounted storage can be purchased separately, by the TB
    • You manage your VM, or use our infrastructure for repeatable, scalable VM deployment
  • replicated data storage
    • provides primary data storage
    • includes snapshot backups stored at an alternate on-campus location
    • NFS and/or Samba access from locations on campus
  • backup storage
    • suitable for backing up primary data stored elsewhere on campus
    • suitable for backing up workstations and laptops
    • minimal access - update backups, recover lost data
  • audio/video conferencing access
    • Support for audio or video teleconferencing
    • Uses Polycom VTC equipment
