Beginning in March 2011, the UCSD School of Medicine will begin offering expanded IT support services that will include:
- backup storage
- suitable for backing up primary data stored elsewhere on campus
- minimal access - update backups, recover lost data
- replicated data storage
- provides primary data storage
- includes snapshot backups stored at an alternate location on campus
- NFS and/or Samba access from locations on campus
- small virtual machines for hosting applications
- Virtual Machines with 2GB or 4GB RAM
In additon to these offerings will be the technical support, consulting, and design services necessary to establish
- a coherent migration plan
- appropriate network connectivity
- user access details, etc.
